Tummy Tuck Doylestown

A tummy tuck as performed on patients from Philadelphia, Doylestown, and surrounding Pennsylvania areas is probably the most body-changing operation Dr. David Silberman performs, and it comes the closest to actual “body sculpting.” You will look and feel dramatically different afterward. Your clothes will fit much better, and you can start wearing what you want, instead of always trying to cover up. In one day of surgery, you can restore what has been lost over several years.

What is abdominoplasty?

Abdominoplasty surgery will improve abdominal contour, and remove excess and sagging skin; in addition weakened muscles can be tightened. A patient’s figure, lost following childbirth or major weight loss, can be markedly improved. There are modified tummy tuck procedures that will improve abdominal contour and are often combined with liposuction for patients who do not require a full abdominoplasty. Some abdominoplasty surgeries will be covered by insurance for patients with symptoms from a large redundant abdominal panniculus, usually occurring after significant weight loss.

Am I a good candidate for a tummy tuck?

There are multiple reasons why a tummy tuck may be right for you. One is to get rid of the loose skin hanging from the front of the abdomen. Unfortunately for many people, due to childbearing or genetics, this skin will not go away no matter how much they may exercise or how much weight they may lose. It seems that once the skin reaches a certain point or age, the muscles underneath may tighten but the skin remains loose. Another reason is if people find their abdominal wall stretched out. As just described, your muscles may be firm, but the envelope of tissue (fascia) which holds them together may be loose. Again, diet and exercise will not correct this problem. Abdominoplasty tightens this envelope without the actual cutting of any muscle. As important as these benefits are, Dr. Silberman feels strongly that this procedure can even do more. He feels it is very important to sculpt and shape the abdomen to obtain the most aesthetic lines and curves possible for your particular body type.
