Breast Reduction Doylestown
What is Breast Reduction Surgery?
In Philadelphia and Doylestown, PA and surrounding communities, women with unusually large, sagging, or uneven breasts may be alleviated from pain or discomfort through breast reduction surgery. This surgery reduces the dissatisfaction some women experience due to discomfort that results from the size of their breasts or the pressure of bra straps on their shoulders. Large breasts may also interfere with physical activities and make it difficult to find clothes that fit properly. Breast reduction is usually a procedure that will be covered by insurance.
The typical breast reduction is performed by making an incision around the areola. The incision is extended downward to the base of the breast where it joins with a horizontal incision in the crease. The incision below the areola forms an upside-down T. The length of the horizontal incision can often be kept to a small length.

Am I a good candidate for a Breast Reduction?
Good candidates for breast reduction are Philadelphia, Doylestown and Bucks County women of relatively normal, stable weight whose breast development is complete. Because significant amounts of breast tissue are removed, breast reduction may impair the ability to breastfeed. At our practice, breast reduction is performed on healthy individuals who do not have a life-threatening illness or medical condition that can impair healing, and individuals with a positive outlook and specific goals in mind for improving their physical symptoms, breast size and shape.
